Details

InDesign is renowned for its print publishing capabilities. But right now, we are experiencing the reinvention of publishing. In this course, we will explore the current "state of the art" techniques for publishing to several devices, especially iPad and Kindle.

Note: the content these devices consume is essentially HTML and CSS, therefore some familiarity with these is extremely useful with current workflows. We will be using Adobe Dreamweaver as part of the production process, but one need not have experience with that particular application to benefit from this course. Of course, we have classes to help fill in the gaps as well as suggested resources.

Also discussed in this course is Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite: the tool used by Wired, Martha Stewart and many others to publish their magazines to the iPad. The DPS is constantly changing, and so is this class, so you can be on top of the current tech.

Prerequisites

You should be comfortable creating documents in Adobe InDesign, using Styles (Character, Paragraph, and Object), placing images, etc. In this class, we take those essential layout skills to the world of touch-screen devices.
